The European Federation of Nurse Educators – (FINE) was formally established in 1995, following several years of discussion and planning by an enthusiastic group of Nurse Educators from several countries of Europe.
The group consisted initially of members from The Netherlands, Belgium and The United Kingdom. They saw the importance of establishing a forum for frontline teachers in Higher Nursing Education in Europe to exchange information and experience, to acquire knowledge on similarities and differences in the education programmes, to establish contacts on specific themes in Nursing Education and on student – teacher exchange possibilities and to influence policy making in Europe.
